Roll up, roll up there's a new show in town. The New Vic celebrates 250 years of the circus by telling the tale of the creator of the modern circus, Phillip Astley. Astley was born in Newcastle under Lyme and so it's very apt that this corker of a play gets its world premiere here.
2018 marks 100 years since the first women won the right to vote. Playhouse Creatures launches a season of work celebrating the anniversary and what an enriching corker it is.
Treasure Island is certainly not one of the first shows you think of when you think Christmas and Theresa Heskins agrees. However, it is the tite local schools of Newcastle under Lyme wanted and so the latest festive production at the New Vic is a swashbuckling adventure tale.
This is the 3rd time in four years that Theresa Heskins is director of Jules Verne's Around the World in 80 Days which has been adapted by Laura Eason. The production continues to go from strength to strength to create the king of all family shows.
