Full Cast Announced For Stafford Gatehouse’s Midsummer’s Night Dream

It’s been announced that a cast of 17 including West End and Musical leading lady Kerry Ellis will star in Stafford Gatehouse’s in-house immersive production of a Midsummer’s Night Dream.

The production is promising to transform the Gatehouse into a ‘mythical greek playground’

Ellis originated the role of Elphaba in the West End production of Wicked and then transferred to Broadway. Ellis also starred in other musicals including We Will Rock You, Rent, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables and many more. Ellis has also collaborated various times with Brian May as well as releasing two solo albums.

On the announcement, Kerry said: ’I am so excited to be joining the cast of A Midsummer Night’s Dream to play Titania, Queen of the Fairies. This will be a new challenge for me and I cannot wait to get going on my first Shakespeare play.’


Joining Ellis is the previously announced Titanic star Jonathan Hyde as Bottom amd Millie Zero as Hermia.

In addition, Dan Burton will play Oberon and Will Taylor will play Puck. Joining them is Lucinda Freeburn as Peaseblossom as well as Sam Lightfoot-Loftus as Cobweb.


Noa Nikita Bleeker plays Helena, while Richard Logun will play the role Lysander. James Bradwell will star as Demetrius.

Joining them is Toby Webster as Theseus and Oyin Orija as Hippolyta.

Meanwhile playing the Mechanicals are Amy Revelle as Snug, Olivier Sublet as Flute, Elaine Hua Jones as Starveling and Daniel Copeland as Snout/Egeus.

The production will be directed by Sean Turner with Choreography and movement by Chris Whittaker.

The production will contain specially commissioned music by Stamatis Seraphim.

Jida Akil will design the costumes joined by set designs by Anna Phillips and finally Lighting Design by Barry Smith and Sound Design by Holly Khan.

The performance runs from June 23rd  – July 9th 2023 at the Gatehouse theatre with priced at £35 (£32 Concession)
